DDC Probation Services launches new support line

Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Probation Service has launched a new support line to provide additional support to people supervised by the service during the coronavirus pandemic.

Anyone phoning the number will get through to a dedicated team of probation staff who will provide practical support for people who are anxious and worried about coronavirus, and the impact it may have on their finances, jobs and other areas of life.

The helpline is open 9am-4.30pm, Monday-Sunday. It is closed on bank holidays.

The new service is a result of a rapid response to the fact that many service users would feel isolated and confused by the effect of lockdown.

KSS CRC’s Chief Exceutive Suki Binning, said: “As the pandemic continues, people on probation will face new and growing challenges on a daily basis, and it’s therefore more important than ever that they are able to access resources to help them manage their wellbeing and other needs. This will be a welcome addition to the support individuals will continue to receive during their probation appointments.”

The helpline will span Kent, Surrey and Sussex Community Rehabilitation Company, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Probation Services and Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire Probation Services.
